This set starts on the ground and works outward. A rocket ship lifts off the launch pad in a cloud of exhaust with the launch tower beside it; the space shuttle flies above Earth with its cargo bay open; an astronaut on a spacewalk holds onto a spacecraft with Earth curving below. Further out there is a space station with its long solar arrays, a satellite with a dish antenna, and an astronaut standing on the moon beside the landing module with a flag planted and Earth in the sky. The last pages leave the spacecraft behind: an observatory telescope aimed at the moon, a six-wheeled Mars rover on rocky ground, a comet streaking over a lake, Saturn with its rings, the sun and its planets on their orbits, and a spiral galaxy.

Every spacecraft is drawn the way it actually looks, which is what separates these from the usual cartoon spaceship coloring page. The rocket has its stages and fins, the space station its connected modules and solar panels, the rover its camera mast and wheels. Outlines are bold on the main subject and lighter on stars and background, every region is closed, and there is no shading or hatching anywhere, so the pages print cleanly on a home printer.

Detail is pitched at adults and older children. For younger kids, Saturn, the comet and the rocket ship have the largest shapes. The space station, the satellite and the moon landing have the most mechanical detail and take the longest to color. Every page is a 3:4 portrait at 768 by 1024 pixels; download them one at a time as PNG or take the whole set as a single print-ready PDF with a cover.
